This afternoon, for the first time in Tirupati Mutt, pathati classes were held for children. The children, even it was in their own sweet tone and tunes with flowers dancing to the tunes of breeze like movements. there was a beauty in it. With both hands held as if saluting, eyes closed and words coming out, devotion was seen on the face and shraddha or faith in the eyes. It is said that “Ishvara vishayakam satharam prema”. It means – reverential love towards Ishvara. You could see it in the children’s faces. Blameless Mind – Anasuya: – It is one of the four important qualities. Gita can be taught to those who have it:
इदं ते नातपस्काय नाभक्ताय कदाचन.
न चाशुशुश्वे वाच्यं न च मा योऽभ्यसुयति ॥

It was seen that the children had easily acquired the merit of piety. Each of the children came before the Acharya and received prasad by saying their name. Asking the first child to hold out both hands and take the prasadam, he gave him an apple. I saw His Holiness telling the second child lovingly to bow down to the padukas and receive the prasad, and seeing the other children following immediately the Acharya’s instructions. I could feel that the words Shankara and Guru were imprinted in their minds and hearts.

இன்று நற்பகல் முதன் முறையாக திருப்பதி மடத்தில் பத்ததி வகுப்புகள் குழந்தைகளுக்கு நடைபெற்றது. அவர்களின் மழலை மொழியில், வார்த்தைகள் மாறியதாக தென்பட்டாலும், அதில் ஒரு அழகு இருந்தது. கைகள் இரண்டையும் வணக்கம் சொல்வது போல் வைத்துக் கொண்டு,கண்களை மூடிக் கொண்டு வார்த்தைகள் வெளியே வரும் போது, முகத்தில் பக்தியும் , கண்களில் ஸ்ரத்தையும் காணப்பட்டது. “ஈஸ்வர விஷயகம் ஸாதரம் ப்ரேம” என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. அதன் பொருள் – ஈஸ்வரனை நோக்கி மரியாதையுடன் கூடிய அன்பு – என்று பொருள். அதை குழந்தைகளின் முகத்தில் காண முடிந்தது. குற்றமறியாத மனம் – அனசூய: – அது நான்கு முக்கியமான குணத்தில் ஒன்று. அது உள்ளவர்களுக்கு கீதை கற்றுத் தரலாம்:

குழந்தைகள் பக்தி என்ற ஒரு தகுதியை எளிதாக பெற்று விட்டதை காண முடிந்தது. ஒவ்வொரு குழந்தைகளும் ஆச்சாரியாள் முன் வந்து தங்கள் பெயரைக் கூறி பிரசாதம் பெற்றுக் கொண்டார்கள். முதல் குழந்தையிடம் இரண்டு கைகளை நீட்டி பிரசாதம் வாங்கிக் கொள்ள கூறி, ஆப்பிள் தந்தார். இரண்டாவது குழந்தையிடம் பாதுகையை வணங்கி பிரசாதம் பெற்றுக் கொள்ள அன்புடன் கூற, பின்வந்த மற்றக் குழந்தைகள், உடனே ஆச்சாரியாள் கூறியதை பின்பற்றிக் கொண்டதைப் பார்க்கும் போது – பசு மரத்தில் அடித்த ஆணி போல் – என்ற பழமொழி நினைவுக்கு வந்தது. சங்கர, குரு என்ற வார்த்தைகள் அவர்களின் மனதில் பதிந்து விட்டதை உணர முடிந்தது.
