இன்று காலை ஒரு தாய், தன் மகளை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு , ஆச்சாரியார் அவர்களை தரிசனம் காண வந்திருந்தார்கள். அந்தத் தாய், தன் மகளை ஆசீர்வதிக்க வேண்டும் என்று வேண்டிக் கொண்டார்கள். உடனே ஆச்சாரியாள் அவர்கள், தன் கையில் இருந்த நெல்லிக் கனியைத் தந்து, “கனக தாரா ஸ்தோத்திரம் படிக்கவும்” என்று ஆசி அருளினார். அன்று நெல்லிக் கனியை வாங்கிக் கொண்டு , மஹா லக்ஷிமியின் அருள் வேண்டி ,கனக தாரா ஸ்தோத்திரம் பாடி. வறுமையை போக்க வேண்டும் என்று மஹா லட்சுமியை வேண்டிக் கொண்டார்.

இன்றோ ஆச்சாரியார் அவர்கள் ஆதி சங்கரர் பெற்றுக் கொண்ட நெல்லிக் கனியைத் தந்து, அவர் அருளிய கனக தாரா ஸ்தோத்திரம் பாராயணம் செய்ய ஆணையிட்டது அனைவருக்கும் பொருந்தும். இதையே திருவள்ளுவர் “அருளில்லார்க்கு அவ்வுலகம் இல்லை பொருளில்லார்க்கு இவ்வுலகம் இல்லாகி யாங்கு.” என்று கூறுகிறார்.

ஒரு நெல்லிக் கனியை பெற்றுக் கொண்டு,உலகம் உய்ய வழி காட்டினார் ஆதி சங்கரர். லௌகீக வாழ்க்கையில் இருக்கும் நமக்கு நெல்லிக்கனியும் தேவை, கனகதாரா வும் தேவை என்ற உண்மையை உணர்த்தியவர். நெல்லிக் கனி பொருளாதாரத்தை குறிக்கிறது, கனகதாரா ஆன்மீகத்தை காட்டுகிறது என்றால் மிகையாகாது. முருகன் கிடைக்காத மாம்பழம் தேடி, பழனி மலையில் தவம் இருந்தான். மாம்பழம் ஞானத்தை குறிக்கும். சபரி தின்ற பழம் பக்தியைக் குறிக்கும்.

This morning a mother and her daughter came to see His Holiness .The mother prayed to bless her daughter. Immediately the Acharya gave the gooseberry fruit in and blessed her saying, “Recite Kanakadhara stotram”. After getting gooseberry fruit during biksha from a woman, who had nothing to offer, Adi Sankara sought the blessings and grace of Maha Lakshmi and chanted kanakadhara stotram. He prayed to MahaLakshmi to remove poverty.

Today the Acharya gave a gooseberry fruit that Adi Shankar had received and advised to recite the Kanakadhara stotram which is applicable to everyone. Adi Sankara showed the way to the world by getting a gooseberry fruit. He is the one who made us realize the fact that we who are in worldly life need Nellikani and Kanakadhara too. It is no exaggeration to say that Nellik Kani represents economy and Kanakadhara shows spirituality.

Lord Muruga did penance in Palani Hill in search of mangoes which he could not get in a dual battle with His brother Vinayaka.. Mango represents wisdom. The fruit eaten by Sabari represents devotion. We need Nellikkani, Mango and the fruits offered by Sabari to Rama. We need Knowledge, Devotion and prosperity.

வேதோ நித்யம் அதீயதாம் – Study Vedas Daily

காலையில் தண்டலம் வேத பாடசாலையிலிருந்து வேத வித்யார்த்திகள் வந்திருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் வேத மந்திரங்கள் ஆச்சாரியார்கள்.முன்பு பாராயணம் செய்தார்கள். அவர்களை ஆசிர்வாதம் செய்து, “நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் நன்றாகப் படித்து, பாராயணம் செய்ய வேண்டும்” என்ற போது, என் கண் முன் ஆதிசங்கரரே “வேதோ நித்யம் அதீயதாம்” என்று கூறுவது போல் தெரிந்தது.
அந்த வரிகளில் தாயின் கருணை, ஆதி சங்கரரின் ஆதங்கம் தெரிய வந்தது. வேதோ நித்யம் அதீயதாம் என்று சொன்ன ஆதி சங்கரர், அடுத்ததாக “தத் உதிதம் கர்மஸுஅநுஷ்டீயதாம்” என்று கூறியுள்ளார். அதாவது, ,” தினமும் வேதம் ஒதுங்கள் ; அதில் சொல்லியிருக்கிற யக்ஞாதி அநுஷ்டானங்களை நன்றாகப் பண்ணுங்கள்” என்று பொருள்.

அனுஷ்டானம் செய்யும் போது தான், அது எவ்வளவு கடினம் என்று அறிய முடிகிறது. பூஜை அறையில் அமர்ந்து கொண்டு சந்தியா வந்தனம் செய்ய அமர்ந்த போது, ஃபேன் சுற்றவில்லை, வெய்யில் கடுமையாக உள்ளது என்று மனம் வசதியை நாடிச் சென்றது. உடனே மனம் கூறியது – “சிவராத்திரி அன்று ஆச்சாரியாள் மாலை 6 முதல், அடுத்த நாள் காலை 6 மணி வரை ஃபேன் இல்லாமல் பூஜை செய்தது நினைவில் இல்லையா?” என்று. அனுஷ்டானம் என்பது ஆன்மீக வாழ்வில் ஒரு சோதனை அறை – Testing Laboratory.

In the morning, Vedic students had come from Thandalam Vedic School. They chanted the mantras and recited them before His Holiness.
His Holiness blessed them by saying, “You should all read and recite well.” When His Holiness said that I was reminded of Adi Sankara, who said in Sadhana Panchakam, “Vedo Nityam Adityatam”. I for a moment thought Adi Sankara himself was standing in front of Vidyarthis and telling them to study Vedas daily. It seemed to say that.

Mother’s kindness and Adi Shankar’s concern came to light in those lines. Adi Sankara who said that Vedo Nityam Athiyadham, next said “Dat Uditham Karmasuanushteiyadham”. That is, “Study the Vedas daily; Perform the yagnati rituals mentioned in it” means.

It is only when you practice that you realize how difficult it is. When I sat in the hall to do Sandhya Vandana, I was not able to sit due to heat.I looked up and wanted to get up and switch on the fan. Immediately the mind said – “Don’t you remember that Acharya performed puja from 6 pm on Shivratri and till 6 am the next morning without a fan?”. Thus Anushtana is a testing laboratory in spiritual life.
